Soda Maker Machine Value Kits
We love to drink carbonated water at our house. One day we sat down and figured our how much money we spent on carbonated water each month We were shocked. We were spending upwards of $200 a month for nothing more than water. However, we recently bought a homeand that changed everything.
So what is a? It is not a vending machine and it is not some huge appliance that we had to connect to our plumbing. In fact, it is a fairly small device, about the size of a coffee maker. It sits on our counter and uses no batteries or electricity. There are several different kinds on the market. Ours came with a reusable soda bottle, a large CO2 cartridge good for 60 liters of water, and a variety of flavors.
To make your own carbonated water, all you have to do is fill the bottle with tap water, screw it into the machine, and then push the big button on top of the machine. In a few seconds you have a bottle of freshly carbonated seltzer water. Even better, you can add more carbonation if necessary to make it extra fizzy.
We love ourbecause its so easy to use and because it saves us so much money. As a point of comparison, there is a well known brand of sparkling water from France that sells for around $2.50 a liter. I make my carbonated water for about 20 cents. I’m sure you can imagine what a difference that made in our budget.
As parents, it also gave us control over what our kids were drinking in terms of soda. They used to consume huge amounts of sugary sodas filled with high-fructose corn syrup. With our carbonated water machine, we could control what we added to our drinks. My kids learned that sometimes all you need is a simple splash of fruit juice or a squeeze of lime. But if you prefer your traditional soda flavors, you can find a lot of great syrups, in both regular and diet form, online. You can even make your own energy drinks.
In addition to saving money, we also liked how our carbonated water machine reduced our plastic bottle waste. In fact, we not longer have any plastic bottle waste because we can reuse our soda bottle over and over again. Reusing is even better than recycling in our book. Our pantry is no longer filled with soda and our recycle bin is no longer filled with empty bottles.
We feel great knowing that we are drinking delicious, homemade beverages that are not only good for our bodies but good for the environment. Our kids are learning to enjoy sparkling water as well. Our carbonated water machine has really made a difference at our home.
